About Us

Innovative Housing Development Corporation is a non-profit housing corporation that was established in 1980. We managed St. Clair County’s first home for mentally ill adults and have continued to grow, currently managing fourteen homes for mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults located throughout St. Clair County.

As an organization we have a strong belief in independence and self-sufficiency. Our values are incorporated into our over 150 independent living apartment units. These sites are for seniors (55+), developmentally disabled and mentally ill individuals.

In addition to affordable housing, we provide support services to our residents designed to value their independence while ensuring quality housing and care.

In managing these programs, we maintain a positive, ongoing relationship with various community agencies including St. Clair County Community Mental Health and Blue Water Area Transit.
