SUMMARY:MSHRM Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Background\nFormed as the Michigan Society of Hospital Risk Management\, the Society draws its membership from many different areas of healthcare\, including large/small\, urban/rural\, acute/long-term/specialty care\, hospital insurers\, attorneys\, and independent risk management consultants. The bylaws are sufficiently broad to accommodate anyone with an interest in health care risk management who wishes to join. Recognizing this\, the Society voted in the fall of 1993 to change its name to the Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management. Membership is available on an active basis for persons currently employed as a healthcare risk manager or designated as such by a healthcare provider\, or an on associate basis for those with an interest in the field not currently eligible for active status as outlined above. \nThe Society became incorporated in 1993 and reaffirmed the purpose for its existence “to provide a forum for individuals directly involved with Michigan hospital risk management to exchange information and ideas.” All of the activities of the Society are aimed at achieving the primary mandate.
