This period of unrelenting global dominance finally put the years of torrid defeats at his tennis club behind him\, and he basked in his status as a bona fide racquet sport World Number One. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYet\, like all true champions\, he wondered if even greater opponents lay ahead. Eventually\, he began sharing the game with a wider talent pool and tested himself against the toughest competitors he could find – at least some of whom were now over the age of five. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n20 grand slam victories and 238 consecutive weeks at no. 1 later\, Rashid finally succumbed to defeat. With rumours of his decline starting to spread\, the world held its breath to see how he would respond.
